It seems though that PCMSTREAM would have to sample at least 10x faster than its maximum for composite out. Posted
  • #2 ✎ 208 ColeslawProductions at least i can make some low visual noise in a monitor by pumping white noise into it Posted

Express Yourself Avatar Taboo I didn't change my avatar for 180 days Website Intermediate Programmer I can make programs, but I still have trouble here and there. Programming Strength Hm. This is interesting. It would be hard to control, and be a reliable stream, but seems like an interesting idea Posted

  • #7 ✎ 208 ColeslawProductions something else i'd love and would probably be more possible is connecting the 3DS to the RX pin on my arduino and sending data that way. I haven't been able to get the arduino drivers installed on my computer though :c Posted
  • #8 ✎ 208 ColeslawProductions oh but what probably is very possible is a custom analog video signal with a custom pc program to pick it up via the audio input Posted
  • #9 ✎ 208 ColeslawProductions Okay, for plain data, we know PetitModem already does this. I'm thinking of making my own program for it now. Posted

So basically, it'd be an extremely poor-man's capture card?

  • #12 ✎ 208 ColeslawProductions What would be more impressive though, is inputting analog video and loading it in the 3DS. Posted
  • #13 ✎ 208 ColeslawProductions With lossy analog quality though, you could theoretically transfer a full color 400x240 image in 9 seconds to the 3DS... in theory. Posted

  • #17 ✎ 1258 12Me21 Admin Syntax Highlighter Received for creating the code syntax highlighter on SBS I guess, but we have to see what is slower? transferring larger files, or decompression a good rule of thumb is: anything inside a FOR loop is slower than you think. Posted

  • #19 ✎ 89 PetNet I'm actually getting quite interested in it. Something similar should be possible using a slower sample rate, say 30khz instead of 3mhz. I think I might look into this. Posted
