What if we had a text-graphics game challenge? That way, people who are new to SB and don't understand graphics/sprites/bg yet can enter.

Problem is that complicated text stuff gets much more complicated than intermediate sprite stuff.

Someone that is an expert programmer would end up making an epic game that takes all the attention away from the other games.

Well I mean, that's what would happen anyway...

Well... yes. That's how it works. Ultimately whoever can make something better will win. That's the point of a contest. The difference is that the knowledge gap is reduced.

What if we had a... Contest Idea Contest! lol Anyway, what about a 3D theme?

submit PoC programs?

3D would only work as well as color. "I used [3D|color], why isn't it good?"

I'm confused were people complaining that color was too vague? I feel like we got a lot of diverse programs out of it.

I agree.

People made programs that were like "hey look certain items are different colors yay"

Yes, but there will always be people that don't try to make a good program at all.

I just realized that the contest ended. But, why did my game get 0 votes!?!? I thought it was good. Plus it used color as a part of the game instead of it just being a colorful game.

blah blah blah next time.
I like the sound of that. Maybe give us more time though?

I really liked your Color Ninja, so I'm not sure. Maybe since you submitted it so early, people forgot about it?

It was a whole month, though. I'm pretty sure at least two entries were made in the last two weeks. Maybe I'll remind people for time management next time.

That could be why. Just wish I would have got at least 1 vote.

It also doesn't help that we got only 35 votes and 15 entries. Some of them really deserved more attention than they got.

I literally programmed the first version of Color Ninja in one day. I think I'm good with time management. :)

Really I was referring to the fact that any brainstorming time will have to be within contest open period, so it's best to use the first day or two to generate as many ideas as one can instead of puzzling over it for weeks, as it seemed like the majority of people had the most trouble with ideas.
